Today I had a meeting with a friend of mine about writing grants. I'm not at the point where I can take that step yet though. She did point me in the right direction. Small steps that lead to a bigger goal. I'm excited.
One the Vet4Vet front I will be going to their training session in Arizona the last weekend in July. I'm very excited to meet everyone and learning as much as I can.
The premise for the idea is to create a sanctuary based on an eco-village designed to assist soldiers and veterans suffering from complications associated with PTSD and their families.
My thoughts are that being productive with hands on activities (perhaps even learning/assisting in a trade) in an environment such as woodland or farmland, close to a city, supported by others who are going through the same thing as well as health care professionals and various spiritual advisers, would enable them to reduce the immediate stresses and triggers 'normal' society places on them and allow a deeper and more thorough healing process.
So I have arranged for an informal meet and greet in order to talk to people about Vets4Vets and hand out information, gather information and whatnot.
